The RIWATT PT Valve is a dual-function pressure and temperature safety valve designed for pressurized solar water heaters. It automatically releases excess pressure or temperature to protect the solar heating system, ensuring safe and reliable operation of closed-type solar water tanks.

PT valve does not rely on any external force, but uses the force of the medium itself and the force generated by the thermal expansion of the temperature sensing element to overcome the load of the spring to open the valve flap, drain the rated amount of fluid to prevent pressure and temperature from exceeding the rated safety value.
When the pressure and temperature return to normal, the valve closes again and prevents the media from continuing to flow out.

The RIWATT PT valve (Pressure and Temperature Relief Valve) is a vital safety component in any solar hot water system. Proper installation and maintenance ensure long-term system safety and stable hot water performance.
Correct Installation Position
Install the PT valve on the top or side of the water heater. The temperature-sensing element must be fully immersed in water to ensure accurate temperature detection and safe operation.
Mounting Orientation
The RIWATT PT valve can be installed horizontally or vertically, but must not be inverted. Proper orientation guarantees optimal valve function and pressure release.
Drain Piping Setup
Connect a drain pipe to the PT valve outlet to discharge hot water safely.
The pipe should lead to a floor drain or collector to prevent surface contamination.
Ensure the drain outlet remains visible for monitoring.
Protect the pipe against freezing, leakage, and blockage to maintain a clear drainage path.
Pressure Regulation
Install a water pressure regulator valve in the hot water system to prevent sudden pressure increases, which could affect the normal operation of the PT safety valve.
At least once a year, manually lift the PT valve handle to check for proper operation.
● Water should flow when the handle is lifted and stop when released.
● If no water discharges, the PT valve is faulty and must be replaced immediately.
Impurities and scale buildup can impair PT valve performance. Use a clean water supply at all times.
In hard water areas, increase inspection frequency and consider additional filtration or softening to protect the valve.
● Built for high safety standards in solar and pressurized water heating systems.
● Reliable temperature and pressure release to prevent tank damage.
● Durable materials ensure long service life under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.
● Compatible with all RIWATT solar water heaters and standard plumbing fittings.
After installation, water heater users must lift at least safety valve each year, in order to ensure that the T/P valve pipeline is the working smooth.
Before operating, checking the discharge line connected to the T/P valve, and ensures that the hot water discharged out from the T/P valve can be excreted in the appropriate place.
If there is no water flows out, the safety valve is invalid; you should immediately turn off the water heater and checked it by certified plumber.
