Thermostatic Mixing Valve Introduction
A Thermostatic Mixing Valve (TMV) is designed to blend hot water—stored at temperatures high enough to eliminate bacteria—with cold water to deliver a constant and safe outlet temperature, preventing scalding.
TMVs are widely used in **solar water heating systems** to ensure user safety by avoiding sudden bursts of excessively hot water. They provide a comfortable, stable water temperature and allow precise control for bathing, showering, and handwashing. Even when water pressure fluctuates due to other appliances in use, the valve maintains the pre-set temperature.
TMVs can be installed under basins, in bathtubs, as part of shower fittings, or integrated into exposed hot and cold water mixers.
Thermostatic Mixing Valve Safety Features:
* If hot water supply fails, the cold inlet port closes automatically.
* If cold water supply fails, the hot inlet closes to prevent scalding.
* If hot water temperature drops below the set level, cold water flow stops, allowing hot water to continue until the correct balance is restored.
